in sickness and and in health...

hospital.jpgMy mind has been wondering the hallway of thoughts today. Mainly on the subject of health care and politics.

Two subjects kept coming to mind while opening doors up and down this hallway, looking for some kind of coherent thought.

The first subject was John Edwards and his wife. It sad news for anyone to be diagnosed with cancer, let alone cancer that gets into the bones. That's never very good news.

The second subject is something that the wife and I go back and forth on. Universal Health Care. (aka in some circles Hillary Care)

While I try to be fair and somewhat human about my views... Yes, all peoples should be afforded health care in some fashion, but the cost of universal health care would simply break the bank at it's best. Even if there would be no corruption, (which there would be, TennCare is a great example), the cost is unsustainable. Our country is simply too large.

Now, lets say we did socialize the health care like our northernly neighbors.

Would you venture that the rich folks or politicians like John Edwards would put up with standard care? Do you think Hillary would want the same kind of care as someone that walks off the street.

I doubt even the Bush's would wander in a federally funded hospital if we so went to that.

When people are sick, they want "The Best". They sure as shit don't want to wait around on the schedule that would certainly be backlogged in the universal system.

All these "caring" people who are "looking out for us" would probably be the exceptions to finding a higher standard of health care. The rules change when it comes to them and theirs. That's something we all should keep in mind when they start blowing smoke up our collective asses.

I also look at one more example of why I don't trust the government to run our health care...

Walter Reed...

Need I say more?
